Captain America Costume Concept Art

The internet has been abuzz with theories and speculation over what Captain America’s costume would look like in the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger. Would it be the classic bright blue, winged helmet version? Would it be a more modern take on the character? Or would it reflect the Second World War setting of the film? Let the speculation end, because Ain’t it Cool News has just posted the first confirmed concept art of the famous Marvel Comics character.

The concepts show a costume similar to Cap’s comic counterpart, but with a more realistic twist that doesn’t mimic the comic book look exactly. As well, the concept art gives us a clear picture of how actor Chris Evans will appear as Steve Rogers in the film. The costume very similar to Marvel’s Ultimate universe interpretation of the character; it’s not overdone or cheesy like some screen versions of the costume have been. I can’t wait to see it in action.

Joe Johnston (October Sky, The Wolfman) is directing the picture, which stars Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, and Samuel L. Jackson.
