Here is the deal. There is a feeling in this country that people just don’t care about English Canadian films. That we would rather watch any crap that the US slams down our throats then a decent English Canadian flick. We here at the cinema always think hard about showing Canadians films or not. We just aren’t sure people will actually come out to see them.
So the challenge is this; I have booked off the first weekend in Decembe…r to devote entirely to English Canadian flicks (I exclude French Canadian flicks cause they prove themselves all the time by being heartily supported by the Quebecois) The films will be selected by you, by posting what you would like to see here. From that we will gauge which ones to play and when.
Concept is simple but will you guys actually show up in decent numbers???
It will be interesting to see what films get voted for and then which films get good numbers at their showings.
