Hello once again to all you lovely people in TORONTO! Dork Shelf and eOne Films have teamed up once again to send you guys to a special advance screening of one of the most talked about and anticipated independent releases of the year. Enter for a chance to win one of ten pairs of passes to an advance screening of the drama FRUITVALE STATION on Wednesday, July 17th.

UPDATE (as of July 13th): Screenings in OTTAWA, HALIFAX, and WINNIPEG have been postponed until sometime in early August. We do not have dates yet. We apologize for the inconvenience and all who entered this contest previously will still be entered for when the screenings actually occur. We will keep you posted as we have more details.

FRUITVALE STATION was the winner of both the Grand Jury Prize for dramatic feature and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. This is the true story of Oscar, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident who wakes up on the morning of December 31, 2008 and feels something in the air. Not sure what it is, he takes it as a sign to get a head start on his resolutions: being a better son to his mother, whose birthday falls on New Year’s Eve, being a better partner to his girlfriend, who he hasn’t been completely honest with as of late, and being a better father to T, their beautiful 4- year- old- daughter. He starts out well, but as the day goes on, he realizes that change is not going to come easy. He crosses paths with friends, family, and strangers, each exchange showing us that there is much more to Oscar than meets the eye. But it would be his final encounter of the day, with police officers at the Fruitvale BART station that would shake the Bay Area to its very core, and cause the entire nation to be witnesses to the story of Oscar Grant.

Fruitvale Station opens in select cities on Friday, July 26th, but here’s how you can see it early! Simply email with FRUITVALE STATION and YOUR CITY in the subject line. Please only one entry per household. Multiple entries will be deleted. For additional chances to win, simply like the contest announcement on our Facebook page and/or re-Tweet the announcement from our Twitter. Deadline for entries is TORONTO 11:59pm on Sunday, July 14th.

Good luck and remember to stay tuned to Dork Shelf for all the latest news, reviews, interviews, and more great contests to come!
