Well, Dork Shelf and the wonderful people at VVS Films want to send 10 lucky winners and a guest of their choosing to an advance screening of the “twisted deep-fried Texas redneck trailer park murder story” KILLER JOE on Thursday, August 9th at 10:00pm.
From acclaimed director William Friedkin (The Exorcist, The French Connection) and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts comes the story of Chris Smith (Emile Hirsch), a good ol’ boy that’s into some bad people for a large amount of money. With the help of his dimwitted father (Thomas Hayden Church), the pair decide to hire a hit man to kill Chris’ mother for some insurance money. The man they hire is the ultra-smooth and no nonsense Killer Joe (Matthew McConaughey), who only waves his upfront fee for use of Chris’ sister (Juno Temple) as a “retainer”.
