Midnight Special is the much anticipated film from writer/ director Jeff Nichols (Shotgun Stories, Take Shelter, Mud) starring Michael Shannon, Joel Edgerton, Adam Driver and Kirsten Dunst. This time around Nichols’ constant collaborator Michael Shannon plays a father trying to protect his son from religious extremists, local law, and ultimately the federal government once it’s discovered that the boy possesses special powers.
