Room

CONTEST: See ROOM in Select Cities!

Director Lenny Abrahamson’s harrowing drama Room isn’t a Canadian movie per se, but it definitely has a strong Canadian connection. Not only was the movie shot in Toronto and co-produced by Telefilm Canada, it also won the coveted People’s Choice award at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. Room was rightfully one of our favourite films of the festival (read our review here) and soon audiences across Canada will have the chance to see the movie.

Elevation Pictures and Dork Shelf want to send you and guest to an advanced screenings of Room on October 28th in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Halifax, and Victoria

Official Synopsis: To five-year-old-Jack (Jacob Tremblay), Room is the world… It’s where he was born, it’s where he and his Ma (Brie Larson) eat and sleep and play and learn. At night, his Ma shuts him safely in the wardrobe, where he is meant to be asleep when Old Nick (Sean Bridgers) visits. Room is home to Jack, but to Ma it’s the prison where she has been held for seven years. Through her fierce love for her son, she has created a life for him in this eleven-by-eleven-foot space. But with Jack’s curiosity building alongside her own desperation, she knows that Room cannot contain either much longer.
