The long awaited follow up from Attack the Block director Joe Cornish is finally here – and it’s exactly the kind of genre-bending adventure you might expect! The Kid Who Would Be King brings Arthurian legend and the Knights of the Round Table to modern day London and stars Louis Ashbourne Serkis (son of Andy), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), and Patrick Stewart as Merlin.
The Kid Who Would Be King arrives in theatres on January 25th, but That Shelf wants to send you and a friend to advance screenings of the movie in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal on Saturday, January 19th – courtesy of 20th Century Fox!
Update: We’ve just added Calgary and Edmonton screenings on Wednesday, January 23rd!
Here’s the Kid Who Would Be King‘s synopsis:
Old school magic meets the modern world in the epic adventure THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING. Alex (Ashbourne Serkis) thinks he’s just another nobody, until he stumbles upon the mythical Sword in the Stone, Excalibur. Now, he must unite his friends and enemies into a band of knights and, together with the legendary wizard Merlin (Stewart), take on the wicked enchantress Morgana (Ferguson). With the future at stake, Alex must become the great leader he never dreamed he could be.
