In part two of our two part giveaway today courtesy of Mongrel Media, we have passes to screenings of the Oscar nominated Wild Tales in Toronto (Feb. 25) and Vancouver (March 5).
Directed by Damián Szifrón and produced in part by Pedro Almodovar and Agustin Almodovar, the film is made up of six standalone shorts with a common theme – revenge. Things get underway with Pasternak, a story that ends with a punch when airplane passengers discover that they have a connection to one person. In others, a waitress serves the loan shark who drove her father to suicide, and a demolition engineer (the always great Ricardo Darin) puts his expertise to work when his car is towed. Others deal with road rage, bribery and infidelity. More fun comes from the spaghetti Western score that punctuates the stories.
