Julia Roberts waited 20 years to make a new rom-com, and it took a great script and the lure of working with George Clooney once more to get her to venture back into the genre that made her a superstar. This marks the fifth on-screen collaboration between the A-list actors and the first since 2017’s Money Monster. The two have always made for an irresistibly charming duo and their latest, Ticket to Paradise, looks to capitalize on that natural chemistry in a big way.
Here Clooney and Roberts take on the roles of a divorced couple who team up and travel to Bali to stop their lovestruck daughter (the amazing Kaitlin Dever) from making the same mistake they think they made 25 years ago. What they encounter instead is an opportunity for second chances, amid the chaos of well-intentioned plans gone wrong.
Directed and written by Ol Parker (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), with both Clooney and Roberts onboard as producers, Ticket to Paradise is set to open October 21. That Shelf wants to send you and a friend to join the party early at an advance screening on October 19 in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal, courtesy of Universal Pictures.
