CHEAP THRILLS, which tells the story of a new father facing eviction whose life is turned upside down when he meets a wealthy couple who offer a path to a better life, stars David Koechner, Pat Healy, Ethan Embry, and Sara Paxton. The film is directed by E.L. Katz (his feature debut) from a script by Trent Haaga, and produced by Gabriel Cowan, Travis Stevens and John Suits.
Following the SXSW world premiere, the film has garnered rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Variety hailed the film as a “thoroughly nasty piece of work” that plays “like the mutant offspring of Harold Pinter and Quentin Tarantino, yet fueled by its own distinctive strain of darkly comic misanthropy.” Horror website Bloody Disgusting.com called it a “masterful and nuanced bit of horror satire,” while the Hollywood Reporter called it “acidly funny” and promised that “few will be bored.” Our own film critic, , thinks it’s one of the best films of the year so far!
