If you like free movie screenings, enter our contest for a chance to win passes to see the critically acclaimed film, The Holdovers, at any Cineplex theatre in Toronto. This feel-good ’70s-set dramedy, with an impressive 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, is also proudly an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival and Telluride Film Festival and went on to win first runner-up at the TIFF People’s Choice awards.
From acclaimed director Alexander Payne (The Descendants), The Holdovers follows a curmudgeonly instructor (Paul Giamatti), at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. He soon forms an unlikely bond with a smart but damaged troublemaker (Dominic Sessa), and with the school’s head cook (Da’Vine Joy Randolph), a woman who just lost her only child in the Vietnam War.
