Do you like Warhammer? How about LAN parties?
If you answered yes to both of those questions (and if you’re in Toronto), you might want to check out the Warhammer 40,000: Dark Nexus Arena community event happening on Thursday. The event kicks of at 6:30pm at Bento Miso and it’s a great opportunity to meet the developers and to get an early look at the upcoming MOBA.
Developed by Vancouver-based Whitebox Interactive, Dark Nexus Arena is an officially licensed Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000 (think League of Legends, if you weren’t already). The game pits teams of four against one another in battles featuring Space Marines, Orks, and everything else you’ve come to expect from the Warhammer franchise. Dark Nexus Arena is currently in alpha after strong showings at PAX East, Gottacon, and a handful of other conferences, with the full launch expected sometime in 2016.
A team of developers from Whitebox Interactive will be hosting the event on Thursday, which also includes a LAN tournament (yes, there are prizes), a Warhammer 40K pop-up shop, and refreshments. The event is free to the public and will run until 11pm, so be sure to drop by to get your hands on the game and to see some of the amazing work being done by Canadian developers outside of the Toronto circle.
The Warhammer 40,000: Dark Nexus Arena Community Event runs from 6:30-11pm on Thursday, May 26 at Bento Miso (862 Richmond St. West) in Toronto. Space is limited, so register in advance if you plan to attend.
