B movie and action cinema fans rejoice! The Loose Cannons podcast is now on the Dork Shelf network.
What’s Loose Cannons, you ask? The concept is pretty simple: it’s a podcast where two dudes (Mathew Kumar and Justin Decloux) have committed to watching every single Cannon film (see the full list here) that’s available and watchable in any form and to then talk about them for about a half hour. From Joe to Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo and beyond, from softcore schlock like Inga and oddities like Fando y Lis, to bona fide action classics like Death Wish II, Delta Force and Bloodsport, these two brave souls are jumping into the deep end of low budget cinema all for our entertainment.
And we’re celebrating the arrival of the Loose Cannons podcast with a very special interview. The Loose Cannons recently spoke with filmmaker Hilla Medalia, the director of the documentary The Go-Go Boys: The Inside Story of Cannon Films. The doc tells the story of Cannon Films owners Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, the two Israeli-born cousins who powered the independent movie studio to incredible heights in the late 1970s and early 80s.
