It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years since Tom Cruise first wowed us with his stunts as Ethan Hunt in the first Mission: Impossible film. Each of the three subsequent sequels have upped the ante in terms of daring feats and spectacle, and the fifth instillment looks to be no exception. For this one, Cruise teams with his Jack Reacher director (and Usual Suspects writer) Christopher McQuarrie. Back as always are Ethan’s stellar support team: Luther (Ving Rhames), Dunn (Simon Pegg), and Brandt (Jeremy Renner), plus newcomer to the series, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa. This time they take on “their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the Syndicate – an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF.“
Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation opens July 31st, but Dork Shelf is giving our readers the chance to attend an advanced screening of the film on July 29th in Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa.
