2 Guns Review

While it certainly won’t go down as one of the most memorable movies of the year, 2 Guns does have an undeniable amount of charisma and charm that make it one of the more pleasant summertime surprises.

Flight Review

Despite an excellent leading performance from Denzel Washington, Robert Zemeckis' Flight is an odd duck of a movie, lurching wildly between crowd pleasing Oscar bait and an intense and far better look at the nature of addiction.

This week in DVD, the big time money maker, but already forgotten Safe House, the unforgettable bomb John Carter, a pair of films so cheesy they're fun, and... um... Act of Valor.

Safe House Review

Ever since Paul Greengrass’ Bourne Identity sequels, espionage movies have been about terrorism and government cover-ups, set in third world countries and filmed with shaky handheld cameras and blown out colour schemes. Safe House falls firmly into this camp, loaded with nods to dirty dealings and water boarding. It’s a fairly entertaining movie, just one that definitely feels like it’s coming out a few years too late.
