Geek Nerd Dork Episode 1

Our own Jeff Brown has joined with comedian and writer Gavin Stephens from NERDGASM Comedy, and author, fanthropologist J.M. Frey from the GeekU Podcast to form a new team: GeekNerdDork — an Alpha Flight to the Shelf's X-Men if you will. Gavin, J.M. and Jeff will gather weekly (Yes, we're putting that in writing) to discuss all the latest geeky, nerdy and dorky happenings in the world of fandom.

Podcast 2 Season 2: A New File

Jeff and Will are joined by new contributor Jesse and our friend Emily for this super-sized edition of the Dork Shelf Podcast. It has been a while since our last show, so we have a lot of catching up to do. We recap Fan Expo and the Toronto International Film Festival, talk about the games, films and comic books that have been entertaining us on the commode, and some of the many amazing dorky events happening in Toronto over the next few weeks.

Podcast 1 Season 2: Skinny John Goodman

Zack joins Jeff and Will for his first Dork Shelf Podcast. The first half of the show finds the three talking about Transformers games both old and new, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the reasons they prefer certain consoles over others. After the break—and after Will and Zack have had a few—the three dorks switch their attention to film and television. They rant about Scott Pilgrim vs. The World having its world premiere in Montreal and they rave about HBO's Treme, despite the fact that its actually kind of boring. The group then proceeds to make fun of Will because he went to see the new Twilight movie and then happily discusses Cyrus and Toy Story 3.

Podcast 17: Spoiled for Choice

In this video game spectacular, Will, Jeff and Lucas are joined by their gassy friend Max to discuss the glut of video games that were offered by developers over the past month or so. Podcast 14: High Rise Jeans

Jeff, the thief, Will, the knight, and Lucas, the wizard, take a break from stacking boxes and dissolving in acid to talk about what they've been playing and what the new year may bring. Lucas details his least favourite Genghis Khan biopic. Jeff talks about what DC has planned for next year, what looks promising. Oh, and Will saw Avatar. Hike up those pants, listen in, and continue the discussion in the comments.

Podcast 13: Inside This Glass

The triumvirate is back for this sixth prime-numbered episode, almost none of which was recorded behind glass. The dorks find themselves deluged with games, fatigued of comics events, and infected with empathy—but it's all good.

Podcast 12: Transformers

To celebrate the DVD and Blu-ray release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Jeff, Joel, Lucas and Will discuss all things Transformers. From the original 80's cartoon and comics to the toys and the recent live-action films we've got our giant shape-shifting alien robot bases well covered.

Podcast 11: Zombies and Robots

Will and Lucas brave the cold and hordes of undead to talk about what they did around Hallowe'en and to look back and wonder about giant robots in computer games. Will dressed up in red and is always the first to get killed, and Lucas has been investigating and beating up armoured junkies. Will Twilight be discussed? Find out in episode one-one.

Podcast 10: TIFF Roundup

Will, Lucas, Noah, and Shelagh put on their ten-gallon critics' hats and rustle together all the films they've seen recently. Covering films from grindhouse to arthouse, the four cowpokes break down what they saw, what they liked, and why they liked it.

Podcast 9: Bearded Sharks

In this "mantastic" episode Lucas, Will, Jeff, and Joel find themselves trapped in a cage deep underwater, assaulted from all sides by the desperate later seasons of The Simpsons. The dorks talk about how Matt Groening's show has changed over time, about what they've been consuming, and some hot news from the worlds of film, video games, and email spam.

Podcast 8: Bacon-Con 2009

Sarrah joins Jeff and Will for a discussion of Green Lantern, Comic-Con, James Cameron's cure for cancer, and much more. Exclusives! Events! Bothering George—and it's kosher!

Podcast 7: Cannes, Not Khan

Special guests Peter Kuplowsky, programmer at the Bloor and the After Dark Film Festival, and Noah Taylor, blogger extraordinaire, join Jeff, Lucas, and Will for a discussion of recent films and comics. Peter lets us know what he saw at The Cannes Film Festival, and Jeff talks to us about Batman and Robin #1. "Here we go!"

Podcast 6: Look at All Those Tentacles

The dorks are back with a sixth podcast. The Star Trek movie is discussed, as is a slew of video games. Will has been playing Broken Steel, Lucas talks about thievery, and Jeff explains how to learn more about upcoming comics through solicitations. This podcast is dedicated to one of our Italian fans. I'm not too keen on hokushu goukan myself, but I hope you find this episode is as gripping and as pleasurable as a horny cephalopod.
