It’s time for another minisode of The Shelf, Dork Shelf’s official podcast.
Today we have a conversation with Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo, the filmmaker behind such films as Time Crimes and Open Windows.
His new film Colossal, which stars Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, is a little hard to describe. The movie is one part personal dramedy about a girl trying to get her shit together, and one part giant monster movie. To say more would ruin the surprise, so we’ll leave it at that. The film stomps into Canadian theatres on April 21.
We recently spoke with Vigalondo about his new movie, where his love of giant monster movies began, how Hathaway and Sudeikis became involved, what it was like shooting in Vancouver, and, of course, what’s on his Dork Shelf.
