The mammoth Marvel machine motors on with this week’s premiere of ABC’s Agent Carter, the debut of the Ant-Man trailer, and now some news on the upcoming Daredevil series. Netflix announced that they will premiere all thirteen one-hour episodes on April 10, 2015 at 12:01 AM PT in all territories where Netflix is available. No official trailer has been released yet, but this new motion poster certainly presents a promising aesthetic.
It’s already been confirmed that the series will take place within Marvel’s cinematic universe and that it will be the first of four of shows leading up to a Defenders series. The other three Defenders who will have their own series are Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.
As Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Boardwalk Empire‘s Charlie Cox leads an impressive cast that also includes Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, and Scott Glenn. Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel) and writer executive producer Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods, Lost, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) have proven track records and should produce something worthy of Netflix viewers’ binge watching habits.
