A big budget drama about Facebook? Tom from Myspace must be spinning in his grave.
The first teaser for David Fincher’s Facebook movie The Social Network debuted yesterday. The film will examine the early years of the social networking site, starting way back in 2004. Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale, Zombieland) stars as embroiled Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The script was written by noted TV scribe Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Charlie Wilson’s War) which he based on Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires. I haven’t read the book, but if Sorkin is involved you know this film will feature many tense conversations had while walking down long corridors. Director Fincher continues to make wonderful and interesting films, his involvement means The Social Network has a lot of potential.
The Social Network will try to friend you on October 1, 2010.
