After years of waiting, The Who is seeing a slew of audiophile releases celebrating some of their most exceptional recordings. The biggest news are the UHQR Tommy and Who’s Next releases that use the Classic Records plates from the ’90s pressed using newer technologies including superior pressing plants and better vinyl composition.

First we take a look at both these sets by unboxing what lies within, then we do a direct comparison with the previous release(s), as well as looking at two other records – My Generation and Live at Leeds – that are given the 45pm 2LP, gatefold sleeve treatment.
