Video Interview: Scott Adsit

Scott Adsit is not actually a giant, hugable, inflatable robot, but he plays one in the upcoming Disney animated adventure Big Hero 6, based on the Marvel Comics property and blasting into theatres this Friday.

Adsit, best known for his comedic work on shows like 30 Rock and cult favourites Moral Orel and The Heart, She Holler, voices the lovable Baymax. Designed as a healthcare dispensing robot, Baymax was designed to help by his creator, Tadashi. When his creator dies in a tragic and suspicious accident, Tadashi’s younger brother Hiro (voice by Ryan Potter) attempts to use Baymax’s durability and cuddly facade to bring those responsible to justice with the help of some friends.

We chatted with Adsit during a promotional stop in Toronto last week to talk about becoming a sure to be iconic Disney character, making adults cry, getting into character, and Baymax’s soon to be trademark fist bump.
