Sometimes a press release flutters through my inbox before grabbing my attention. I’m not sure how I slept on Code 8 for so long, but it’s for the best since I have less wait time before it arrives in theatres and VOD.
Code 8 is a sci-fi/thriller based on Jeff Chan’s 2016 short. The short stands out for its high production values and its notable stars. Returning from the short are Stephen Amell (Arrow), Robbie Amell (ARQ), and Sung Kang (Fast & Furiou 6). Code 8’s story takes place in a world where a small percentage of people have superpowers, and they’re kept in check by a militarized police force.
What more do you need to know? I’m already in. Code 8 looks like the perfect VOD film to kick back and enjoy during your holiday downtime. Check it out.
Code 8 trailer:
I’m always excited to see a title make the jump from short to feature. And I can’t wait to see how Chan levels up a short that was dope to begin with.
