Frozen 2’s Trailer Offers More Questions than Answers

Disney's teaser shows Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff taking their act on the road

If there is a movie sequel that needs no introduction, it’s Frozen 2. Let’s just get right to it:

Frozen 2 isn’t just a follow-up, it’s cementing a legacy. In 2013, Frozen became a box office destroyer of worlds. The movie earned a staggering $1,276,480,335 billion at the worldwide box office, and it’s the highest grossing animated film of all time. But most importantly, no other movie in the history of home entertainment has worn out more DVD and Blu-ray players. Don’t quote me on that one.

Frozen’s catchy musical numbers, endearing characters, and themes of female empowerment resonated with moviegoers young and old. The movie instantly became a pop culture staple and is already recognized as one of Disney’s all-timers. Frozen’s cast of Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf are like The Beatles for kids fourteen and under. Anticipation for a sequel couldn’t be any higher.

This new trailer doesn’t reveal much plot. But if a superpowered princess running on water doesn’t sell this picture, Frozen 2 is not for you.

Here is Disney’s synopsis:

Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf are going far in the forest to know the truth about an ancient mystery of their kingdom.

From the Academy Award®-winning team—directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and producer Peter Del Vecho—and featuring the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, and the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

Frozen 2 arrives in theatres on November 22
