King Richard Review

King Richard is an awards vehicle for Will Smith, but make no mistake, this is the feel-good sports story that used to dominate the movies.

Divergent Review

The first thirty minutes of Divergent, the first in yet another young adult novel series trying to cash in on the success of The Hunger Games and the lack of Harry Potter in the marketplace, are really incomprehensibly bad. Then, almost miraculously, the film gives the audience two more hours of film and actually finds a way to make it entertaining.

The Mechanic Review

Despite it's generic qualities, which are numerous, The Mechanic maintains an appealing lack of moral rectitude throughout its running time. Jason Statham plays Arthur Bishop, a “mechanic”, which is code for assassin. He kills people for an unspecified evil corporate entity run by his mentor. The lack of specificity concerning his motivations is an asset to the film. It helps make the hackneyed direction by Simon West more palatable.
