Bloodshot Trailer: Vin Diesel Becomes a Super Soldier

Even Death Can’t Keep This Guy Down

As someone who loves comic books, Valiant Comics’ Bloodshot series never made it on to my reading list. So, I’m going in blind to the new adaptation starring Vin Diesel. I have no idea if they’re doing the series’ mythology any justice, but based on the trailer, this superhero action flick looks like too much fun.

Diesel plays a soldier who was killed in action and brought back from the dead using nanotechnology. This new nanotech makes him nearly indestructible, and I find this bit of plot hilarious. Diesel is almost indestructible in most films; in Furious 7, his character Dom Toretto rolls his car down a mountain without dying, suffering a concussion or even breaking a bone. But Diesel’s Bloodshot character takes it to the next level. His super soldier Ray Garrison/Bloodshot literally takes a bullet to his face, so at least we now have an explanation for his Undertaker-like ability to withstand incredible ass-kickings.

Bloodshot synopsis:

Based on the bestselling comic book, Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation.  With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force –stronger than ever and able to heal instantly.  But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too.  Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – but he’s on a mission to find out.

Bloodshot arrives in theatres on February 21, 2020.
