FILM SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL presents David Lynch’s WILD AT HEART

The unholy creative marriage of author Barry Gifford and director David Lynch, WILD AT HEART is one of the most ballistic, unhinged, rowdy, violent, erotic, ridiculous, beautiful, perverse and wonderful motion pictures ever made. Nicolas Cage turns in a landmark performance as the Elvis-esque bad boy parolee Sailor Ripley, who rampages across America with his Marilyn-ish lady love Lula (Laura Dern) while her wicked witch mother (Diane Ladd) and a rogues gallery of dangerous eccentrics try to crush their mad love. This is vintage Lynch, a wildly cinematic romp that jerks viewers emotions around as much as it stimulates their senses.

Film School Confidential is thrilled to be screening a crisp 35mm print of this masterpiece of weird movie-making magic. FANGORIA editor and FSC host Chris Alexander will introduce the film and add context about Lynch’s unique creative aesthetic.
