Coming off the heels of an acclaimed first season, Paradise Season 2 is finally here, promising even more mysteries and human drama in its post-apocalyptic setting. Season 1 ended on a massive cliffhanger with Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) leaving the underground bunker known as Paradise. With the outside world not as inhospitable as Paradise leader Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson) led everyone on the inside of the bunker to believe, the sophomore series will see Xavier on the search for his wife, Dr. Teri Rogers-Collins (Enuka Okuma). Meanwhile, his allies and enemies scramble to deal with the revelations of the previous season while still inside the bunker.
Two people that served as both enemy and ally (and maybe a bit of both?) to Xavier last season were Dr. Gabriela Torabi (Sarah Shahi) and Jane Driscoll (Nicole Brydon Bloom). Both serve as key characters, with Gabriela being the psychological architect of Paradise and Jane being Xavier’s fellow Secret Service Agent with duplicitous ties to Sinatra. Both characters will have exciting roles to play in the second season.
That Shelf TV Critic Aaron Halls had the opportunity to talk with Sarah Shahi and Nicole Brydon Bloom about the specific qualities they bring as performers to their characters, and the energy the new setting will bring to Paradise Season 2.
