Ahead of the April 4 release of A Minecraft Movie, Warner Bros. Pictures Canada is giving fans of the franchise a chance to step into its pixel-perfect world IRL.
Their Yorkdale Shopping Centre activation, located near the TTC entrance and the Starbucks Kiosk, is a world-exclusive, complete with take-home souvenirs, a mega- sized interactive LED portal, and several spot-on photo ops. If you’ve got kids at home and are looking to switch up your social content, this free experience is a March Break must… if you don’t mind long lines.
The video game turned global phenomenon is popular for a reason; players can’t get enough. Promoting the upcoming film in a way that looks and feels this real was bound to draw a crowd. But don’t take our word for it; we took our 11-year-old kid correspondent to check it out.
The verdict? A solid seven out of ten. Highlights included posing with a Pink Sheep and getting to wield an iconic pick axe.
