I am Divine

The Next Two Weeks at The Bloor: 2/21/14 & 2/28/14

We review the one new film at The Bloor this week, a look inside the US Federal Reserve in Money for Nothing, and look ahead to a slew of events over the next two weeks, including return engagements of all of this years Oscar nominated documentary features, the Oscars themselves, several returning series, and an appearance from famed stand-up comedy icon Paul Mooney.

This Week at The Bloor: 1/24/14

Another solid week at The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema brings a look at an offbeat Icelandic museum in The Final Member, the rise of one of basketball's most recent superstars in Linsanity, a screening of one of the best rock concert films of all time (Stop Making Sense), and a very special tribute and fundraiser for recently passed documentary icon Peter Wintonick.

Films in Brief: 1/10/14

Due to our Film Editor being down for the count this week (tearing tendons in his foot and having the flu at the same time), there will sadly be a few reviews missing this week, including the Bloor Cinema column, but he did want to pass along these thoughts for the films he saw but couldn’t write about: I am Divine, Persistence of Vision, Gabrielle, and Ms. 45.

Inside Inside Out

We take a look at some of the offerings at the 23rd annual Toronto Inside Out LGBT film festival, including Peaches Does Herself, Valentine Road, Schoolgirl Complex, The Rugby Player, Interior. Leather Bar, The Most Fun I've Ever Had with My Clothes One, I am Devine, and I Stand Corrected.
