You’ve made your list; checked it twice; already know who has been naughty and nice. Well, in a perfect world that’s how we would all be marching into the holiday season. Unfortunately, most of us lead busy lives and leave the holiday shopping a little later than we probably should. Fortunately, there are plenty of LEGO sets that are perfect for last-minute shoppers.

If you are looking to avoid Jingle All the Way-style fights at the stores, here are some simple gift ideas that you might consider for loved ones:

For the Star Wars fan:

The Dark Falcon (1579 pieces, set # 75389)
Inspired by the version of the Millennium Falcon from the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Disney+ special, this set offers a cheaper version of the iconic spaceship than previous LEGO sets of the ship. While Darth Jar Jar is one of the six minifigures, proving the annoying character will outlive us all, the Jedi Darth Vader is a nice addition to any minifig collection. A decent size that won’t take up too much space, this ship is perfect for those willing to flirt with the dark side.

 

For the Marvel fan:

X-Men: The X-Mansion (3093 pieces, set 76294)
As a fan of both X-Men 97 series, which this set is based on, and the original show, I was pumped to hear that the X-Men Mansion was getting the LEGO treatment. What is interesting about this set, beside the 10 minifigures, is that the mansion is a modular building. Meaning that it can be attached to other modular sets, which is perfect for those who like to build LEGO cities. The fact that the mansion consist of three buildings in one, only adds to the versatility of the set and how it can be used.

 

For the DC fan:

Batman with the Batmobile vs. Harley Quinn & Mr. Freeze (435 pieces, set # 76274)
For a while now, LEGO has been bringing out mini vehicle versions of many of the iconic Batmobiles. As a collector of these cost-effective vehicles, especially since the large-scale versions can get pretty expense, I already have the mini version of Tim Burton’s Batmobile and the mini version of the 1960’s Adam West version. Needless to say, it is only a matter of time before I add my favourite Batmobile, from Batman: The Animated Series, to my collection. This one come with three minifigs, including Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze, for all those who want to recreate some of their favourite episodes.

 

For the lover of all things retro:

Bumblebee (950 pieces, set # 10338)
As someone who owns the Optimus Prime set, I must admit there is a certain joy in building a LEGO Transformer that can transform into a vehicle. Granted the shifting from robot to car is not as smooth as it could be, due to some delicate pieces, but it is a cool experience nonetheless. Hopefully the addition of the Bumblebee set, which is smaller in scale and easy to fit on a shelf, will usher in a new wave of Transformer LEGOS sets…looking at you, Soundwave!

 

For the nature lover:

Chances are good that there is one person you know who is more into nature than pop culture. Shocking at it may seem, it is important to remember that the winter months may be hard for those who love to garden. Thankfully, there are a bunch of LEGO Botanical sets that will brighten up the décor of any sized space. Considering the number of LEGO flower sets and bouquets we have around the house; I can attest that these flowers not only look great but also spark plenty of conversations due to their inventive designs.
