Here’s your first look at the next highly anticipated entry in the DCEU: Birds of Prey — aka Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.
Harley Quinn was the standout character in Warner Bros.’ poorly-received supervillain team-up movie, Suicide Squad. So, it’s no surprise to see her pop up in another team-up film. The Birds of Prey are popular with comic book readers, but they’re far from DC Comics A-listers. It makes sense the studio would throw Harley into the Birds of Prey mix and leverage her name recognition.
Warner Bros. hit the lottery when they cast Margot Robbie in the role. Between the comic book character’s popularity, Margot Robbie’s supernova-level star power, and her charismatic performance, Harley Quinn is a hot property. Count on this version of the character sticking around for years to come. You can be damn sure the studio will keep milking her, even as other prominent DC characters are branching off into solo films.
