Halloween Review
David Gordon Green's Halloween is easily the best movie to feature Michael Myers since the 1978 original. Yes, it is that good.

Aloha Review
Cameron Crowe's ensemble rom com Aloha has all the ingredients that should make audiences love it, but the script feels sloppy, with a beginning that's too messy and an ending that's too clean.
Home Entertainment Round-Up: 5/20/14
We play catch up with the DVDs we've accumulated over the past month with Phil looking at Criterion releases for Riot in Cell Block 11 and Breaking the Waves, the recently remastered Sorcerer, a re-cut version of the documentary Cocaine Cowboys, the fourth and final season of Eastbound and Down, and the latest Paranormal Activity film. Dave looks at straight-to-video efforts Mr. Jones and Bad Country, along with new discs for Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia and Seven Warriors. And Andrew looks back on A Birder's Guide to Everything and Big Bad Wolves.
This is the End Review
There’s no logical reason why Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s directorial debut This is the End should work outside of containing sheer, overpowering amounts of talent in front of the camera. It becomes more than the mere trifle most would expect it to be on the surface and instead becomes the funniest comedy so far this summer and one of the seasons most pleasant, yet foul-mouthed surprises.
30 Minutes or Less Review
30 Minutes or Less is a strange sort of film, but the elements are all there to make for a decent bit of entertainment. It is an affably ridiculous action comedy that takes an extremely convoluted plot and boils it down to a film that clocks in at just a shade over 80 minutes. The film continues in the same self-referential vein of most hybrid comedies of the past few years, with nods to everything from Die Hard and The Great Santini, to Friday the 13th Part 3. It all adds up to a film that is fun while it lasts, but ultimately ends up going nowhere special.
Your Highness Review
I didn’t walk into Your Highness with high expectations, that would have been silly, but I was looking forward to it in a way that defies my general like of good taste. A stoner-fantasy genre hybrid suddenly felt like exactly the nosh I was hungry for. But there isn’t a formula for this sort of subgenre as much as there is a vibe, and I’m sad to say no matter how much you tint your eyes rose coloured before entering the theatre, Your Highness doesn’t do a great job flowing with it.
Your Highness
Red Band Trailer
The new red band trailer for David Gordon Green's fantasy-comedy Your Highness has hit the web. Quick word of warning about the trailer: it's red band. That means it contains violence, excessive swearing, stoner jokes and Natalie Portman in a thong — although we sincerely doubt that the last warning will serve as much of a deterrent.
