The 14th annual Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival is Canada’s premier pan-Asian international film festival, fostering the exchange of cultural and artistic ideals between east and west. It provides a public forum for homegrown Asian media artists and their work, and fuels the growing appreciation for Asian cinema in Canada.
This year Reel Asian features some truly awesome films, including the 1970’s kung fu throwback Gallants, Yoshihiro Nakamura’s follow-up to Fish Story, Golden Slumbers, the French New Wave inspired Au Revoir TaiPei, and Suite Suite Chinatown, seven GTA filmmakers weave seven short films about Chinatown together. The fest also showcases some great documentaries including Redress Remix, a film about the infamous Chinese head tax in Canada.
The festival runs from November 9th -15th 2010
