Video: What’s on Your Dork Shelf?

Urban Dictionary defines “Dork Shelf” as “a shelf within a room in which typically unacceptable or nerdy paraphernalia is acceptable and in most cases cool to have on display”. We’re not sure who “supirio” is, the helpful Urban Dictionary user who added this definition in March of 2010, about a year after we launched our site, but we couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

However, with geek culture becoming mainstream over the past few years, those nerd artifacts are no longer considered “typically unacceptable.” We’ve been asking movie stars, filmmakers and artists the Dork Shelf question for years, and nine out of ten times the interviewee is eager to share what it is they like to nerd out about, so we figured it was time we gave back a little by telling you what’s on our Dork Shelf, beginning with the site’s co-founder and Editor-in-Chief Will Perkins

This is the first in a series of videos that won’t only feature the collections of the site’s contributors and friends, but perhaps YOUR Dork Shelf too. Have some cool stuff you’d like to show off in a video like this one? Email [email protected] with photos of your Dork Shelf and we’ll see what we can do!
