With the recent success of Machete it should come as no surprise that other Grindhouse spin-offs would be in development. One such spin-off, Hobo with a Shotgun, was also featured as a trailer in the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino mashup; though it only appeared on Canadian prints of the film. Thanks to the popularity of the original, a feature length version of Hobo with a Shotgun is now in production, starring none other than Rutger Hauer as the eponymous firearm wielding vagrant.

The film also stars Brian Downey (Lexx) and Robb Wells (Trailer Park Boys) and is being produced in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Hobo with a Shotgun is set for a Spring 2011 release.
