Shudder: What to Watch – February 2021

February Gets Dark and Wicked

Shudder kicked off 2021 with a slate of fiendishly entertaining titles sure to please all types of horror fans. And I’ve got to say, I’m already struggling to catch up on my Shudder backlog.

Shudder has once again dropped a promising list of monthly content. Bryan Bertino’s The Dark and the Wicked jumps out right away since it’s one of 2020’s best-reviewed horror flicks (which I still haven’t got around to watching). Speaking of critically-adored movies, Shudder will also stream Kevin Phillips’ 2017 horror-thriller, Super Dark Times – another film on my backlog. See a pattern here?

And Indonesian horror fans should know that Shudder has one more treat; Liliek Sudjio’s 1981 scare-factory, The Queen of Black Magic. If you’re in the mood to binge, this 40-year-old supernatural thriller makes a dope double feature with Kimo Stamboel’s 2019 remake (premiering on Shudder on Jan 28).
