Before I Go to Sleep Review

A waste of a fresh concept, a good director, and a talented cast, Before I Go to Sleep only succeeds at being a dully predictable slog.

TIFF 2014: The Imitation Game Review

The Imitation Game Special Presentations Benedict Cumberbatch carries the day in a role that feels almost custom made for the sort of droll loner act he has been perfecting across his past several films and his hit TV series, Sherlock. Only this time, he’s certain to get some award season buzz because he’s playing noted […]

John Carter Review

On top of making back a gargantuan, near quarter of a billion dollar budget, John Carter isn't exactly the easiest sell in the world even by mega-blockbuster standards. It's extremely literate to the point where it just might alienate audiences looking for average escapist fare.

Robin Hood Review

It seems that every twenty years or so, Hollywood decides it wants to take on the English folk hero Robin Hood. From the Douglas Fairbanks and Errol Flynn era, to the Connery/Hepburn duo of Robin and Marian and more recently the dubious-yet-classic Kevin Costner outing, Robin Hood is no stranger to the big screen. I’m […]
