Michael Shannon once again teams with director Jeff Nichols ( Mud, Take Shelter ) for a different kind of film, Midnight Special shoots for the stars and hits every one.

99 Homes Review

99 Homes is essentially Wall Street for the era of the U.S. bailout and sub-prime mortgage collapse. An assured return to form for filmmaker Ramin Bahrani that benefits from a wealth of style and tension and a pair of exceptionally matched leading performances.

Man of Steel Review

Although it might be still somewhat of an unsubtle disappointment, Man of Steel offers enough action and promise for the future, particularly from Henry Cavill in the lead and even from Zack Snyder in the director's seat. Premium Rush Review

Named like an energy drink, directed like a cartoon, and performed in the style of poppy 90s blockbuster cheese that has sadly disappeared, if you have a bad time at Premium Rush , you’re either too cynical about movies to enjoy good trash or you had a heart attack in the theater from all the awesomeness. Those are really the only two options.

13 Review

Sometimes a press release comes along that’s just too implausible to pass up. There’s just something about it that catches the eye or something in the content that contains a hard to refuse offer. Such is the case with this week’s direct to DVD release of the film 13 . The release stated that the film starred Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Shannon in a remake of director Gela Babluani’s wonderful 2005 film 13 Tzameti with Babluani returning to helm the new version.
