IGN just posted the red band trailer for David Gordon Green’s Your Highness, his follow-up to the awesome Pineapple Express. The fantasy-comedy follows two princes — the lazy Thadeous (Danny McBride) and heroic Fabious (James Franco) — on a quest to save the latter’s bride-to-be, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel), from the clutches of an evil wizard.
Quick word of warning about this trailer: it’s red band. That means it contains violence, excessive swearing, stoner jokes and Natalie Portman in a thong – Although I doubt that last warning will serve as much of a deterrent.
If Your Highness‘s ridiculously talented cast live up to their potential, the film could be a lot of fun. Let’s just hope the movie doesn’t suffer from the “putting every funny joke in the trailer” syndrome plaguing so many comedies these days. If anyone can properly satirize the fairy tale/fantasy genre I’m confident that David Gordon Green and company are the people for the job.
