As much as it saddens me that fall is just around the corner, autumn does have its perks. Shorter days, longer nights and the lead up to Halloween make this chilly season the perfect time to kick back, relax, and watch creepy movies. Whether you’re a gorehound who loves slasher films or enjoy Hitchcock-style thrillers, fall is horror flick season.
It Chapter Two kicks horror season off with a bloody bang on September 6, and now, the genre-loving folks at Blumhouse are adding another movie to the mix. The new horror/thriller Bloodline is directed by Henry Jacobson and stars Seann William Scott as a social worker who takes his job way too far. Scott’s character, Evan is a devoted family man and father to a newborn. And under cover of night, Evan, sneaks out to unleash vigilante justice on people who abuse at-risk children. Based on the trailer, the movie has an early series Dexter-type of vibe.
Bloodline also stars Mariela Garriga (Nightmare Cinema), Dale Dickey (Claws), and Kevin Carroll (The Leftovers). And if you need to fill some more space on your horror movie calendar, Blumhouse got you covered. Their promising-looking picture, The Hunt, hits theatres the very next week (September 27).
Evan (Seann William Scott) values family above all else, and anyone who gets between him, his wife, and newborn son learns that the hard way. But when it comes to violent tendencies, it seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Bloodline arrives in theatres day-and-date with digital on September 20, 2019.
