8. I Love You to Death (1990)

This dark comedy is stars Tracey Ullman as Rosalie, a devoted wife to Joey (Kevin Kline). When Rosalie discovers the incredible extent to Joey’s womanizing she decides to kill him…only Joey proves harder to kill than anticipated. Rosalie receives help from her mother (Joan Plowright) and her smitten employee (River Phoenix). Rounding out the star studded cast are Keanu Reeves and William Hurt as drugged-out hired hit men. Rosalie ends up trying to kill Joey FIVE TIMES. After he survives a couple of gunshots and a poisoning, Joey and Rosalie forgive each other and love conquers all… I guess? What’s even weirder is that it’s based on a true story.
