True Blood Episode 4.12 Recap
Finale?! WHAT?! Why did no one tell me this season was only 12 episodes long? Oh, I'm supposed to know that because I'm the reviewer? Oh, I see how that works now. On Sunday night, True Blood ended its fourth season with a bang… or a wet fart, depending on who you ask. It seems Alan Ball chose to dangle plot promises for next season in front of our faces instead of making the end of this one any good.
True Blood Episode 4.11 Recap
As the season’s end draws near, True Blood amps it up this week with the eleventh episode ‘Soul of Fire’. This latest installment was dynamic, but felt somewhat rushed. That can only mean Alan Ball is gearing up for one hell of a finale, right? Here’s hoping.
True Blood Episode 4.10 Recap
True Blood follows up last week's doofy ghost story with a surprising tearjerker of an episode entitled 'Burning Down the House'. In the tenth episode Sookie and Eric's worst fear comes true, Tommy finally gets his and Bill is determined to take out the witch once and for all, no matter the cost.
True Blood Episode 4.9 Recap
If this week’s True Blood had you thinking, ‘What the fuck?!‘ you aren’t alone. Ball seems to have dropped the ball this week with ‘Let’s Get Out of Here’. At least it wrapped up that ridiculous Baby Mikey plot. That’s over, right?
True Blood Episode 4.8 Recap
No one seems to be quite themselves in this week’s episode of True Blood, 'Spellbound’. Picking up where we left off last week, Jessica is under the witches’ spell and is about to walk out into the sun to meet her true death. It didn’t even occur to me last week that Ball might have the balls to kill off a character and even though I like Jessica, I secretly wanted to see her go up in flames because it's pretty cool.
True Blood Episode 4.7 Recap
I was interested to see how Alan Ball would follow up last week’s all over the map episode of True Blood. What started out as an exciting, plot-packed hour ended as a cringe worthy, softcore porn Twilight tribute (albeit with a good soundtrack). Thankfully he managed to maintain the excitement without the cheese this week in ‘Cold Grey Light of Dawn’.
True Blood Episode 4.6 Recap
The sixth episode of True Blood's fourth season is entitled "I Wish I Was the Moon" for the Neko Case song that plays at the end of the episode and into the credits. The episode itself begins and ends with Erik Northman and Sookie Stackhouse locked in a long awaited, barely clothed embrace, and as for episode structure - that's about it. "I Wish I Was the Moon" has some stellar moments, some moments worthy of the misspent potential of the series, but when taken as a whole, the episode struck me as listless and disorganized - as much of this season has been.
True Blood Episode 4.5 Recap
Despite numerous betrayals, spilled secrets and a long-awaited hook up, True Blood didn’t really get my blood pumping this week with its fifth episode ‘Me & the Devil’. Not surprising for mid-season of course, but still not saying much if this episode was a yawner despite there being a double murder. At least this week Alan Ball dialed back the inbreeding and has yet to find a cure for Eric’s shirt allergy. As Marnie would say, thank Goddess!
